Is Duxford worth visiting?
Question
Answer
Yes, Imperial War Museum Duxford is absolutely worth visiting. As Britain's largest aviation museum, it houses nearly 200 aircraft, military vehicles, artillery and small naval vessels in seven main exhibition buildings. The museum is open every day except 24 to 26 December, with adults tickets from £26.80 (members and under fives go free). We recommend at least half a day for your visit.
The site features iconic aircraft including the Spitfire, Concorde, the Lancaster bomber, and the massive B-52 Stratofortress. You can witness aircraft taking off and landing on the active airfield, explore historic hangars, and walk in the footsteps of RAF personnel who served there during WWII.
Visitor reviews consistently rate it as one of the best heritage sites, with many noting you could easily spend 3-5 hours exploring and even then not see everything.
