About the Westland Wessex Type

The Westland Wessex is a British turbine-powered helicopter developed by Westland Aircraft (later Westland Helicopters) as a licensed adaptation of the American Sikorsky H-34. It was the first helicopter in the world to be produced in large numbers with a gas turbine propulsion system, marking a significant advancement in rotary-wing aviation.
