Hawker Hunter T.7A

Fighter-trainer aircraft By: Hawker Origin: United Kingdom First Flight: 1955

About This Aircraft

The Hawker Hunter T.7 was the two-seat trainer version of the successful Hunter fighter. This aircraft, XL568, is a T.7A variant. It is easily distinguished from the single-seat versions by its side-by-side seating arrangement under a wide bubble canopy. The T.7 was developed to provide training for pilots transitioning to the high-performance Hunter. Despite its training role, it retained a single 30mm ADEN cannon and was fully aerobatic, making it an effective and versatile aircraft. XL568 is finished in a typical training livery with high-visibility dayglo panels. The T.7 served with the RAF for many years, not just for training but also in other roles, and was a common and welcome sight in British skies.
