About This Aircraft

The Avro Anson C.19 Series 1, represented by TX214, was a post-war transport and communications variant of the venerable Anson aircraft. This particular aircraft is a C.19, which was developed for civilian and military use after WWII. It featured a more refined, raised cabin roof compared to its wartime predecessors, offering more headroom. Powered by two Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah XV radial engines, each producing approximately 420 horsepower, the aircraft was known for its reliability. The C.19 maintained the Anson's familiar low-wing, twin-engine silhouette. TX214 would have served in the RAF's communications fleet, finished in a standard silver scheme with RAF roundels. The cabin featured improved glazing for better visibility and could accommodate passengers or light cargo, continuing the Anson's legacy of versatility and dependability well into the 1960s.
